David Bowie - Rock 'n' Roll Star (5 Cd + Blu-ray)

DAVID BOWIE ROCK 'N' ROLL STAR!, una lujosa caja de 5CDs y 1 Blu-Ray que explora el viaje de David Bowie desde febrero de 1971 a través de la creación del personaje Ziggy Stardust, la grabación del icónico álbum THE RISE AND FALL OF ZIGGY STARDUST AND THE SPIDERS FROM MARS, y captura el fenómeno que rodeó a Ziggy en forma de sesiones de radio y presentaciones televisivas en el Reino Unido, así como temas en vivo del programa de Ziggy and the Spiders del 1 de octubre de 1972 en el Boston Music Hall. ¡ROCK 'N' ROLL STAR!, que contiene 29 temas inéditos, cubre demos de composición temprana, grabaciones de la banda de David, The Arnold Corns, ensayos en Haddon Hall, en aquel entonces casa de Bowie,  sesiones de la BBC, sencillos, presentaciones en vivo, además de tomas descartadas y versiones alternativas de las sesiones de grabación del álbum original, que han sido mezcladas recientemente por el productor del álbum original, Ken Scott. Los aspectos más destacados inéditos incluyen una versión alternativa de 'Lady Stardust', una versión inédita del clásico 'Shadow Man' y una versión acelerada de 'I Can't Explique' de The Who, que luego ralentizaría y versionaría para el álbum PIN-UPS. El disco Blu-Ray de solo audio incluye la remasterización definitiva de 2012 del álbum original de Ziggy Stardust en estéreo PCM de 96 kHz/24 bits, además del álbum y mezclas adicionales de 2003 en DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1, así como los sencillos, tomas descartadas y alternativas, versiones en estéreo PCM de 96 kHz/24 bits. El Blu-Ray también incluye una versión del álbum de ZIGGY STARDUST llamado WAITING IN THE SKY (BEFORE THE STARMAN CAME TO EARTH) tomado de cintas de Trident Studio fechadas el 15 de diciembre de 1971, que presenta un orden de ejecución alternativo y cuatro canciones que no aparecieron en el álbum final. La caja ROCK N ROLL STAR también contiene dos libros. El primero es un extenso libro de 112 páginas con notas detalladas, recuerdos, reseñas y artículos contemporáneos, fotografías poco comunes de Barrie Wentzel, Michael Putland, Mick Rock, Sukita y Alec Byrne, así como notas y entrevistas completamente nuevas con Ken Scott, Mark Carr Pritchett y la plugger de David de la época, Anya Wilson. Acompañando al libro principal hay una reproducción compilada de 36 páginas de los cuadernos personales de la era Ziggy Stardust de David.
