Green Day - American Idiot (20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition) (8 Lp-vinilo + 2 Blu-ray)

Hace exactamente dos décadas Green Day dinamitó la escena punk rock y la cultura popular con su obra magna conceptual ""American Idiot"". Para celebrar su vigésimo aniversario el grupo de California anuncia la publicación el 25 de octubre de una impresionante reedición del disco, a la altura del álbum original. ""American Idiot 20th Anniversary Deliuxe Edition"" se publicará en sendas cajas de ocho vinilos y cuatro CDs que contienen dos Blu Rays con material en vídeo. También estará disponible el disco original en una nueva edición limitada en vinilo doble coloreado. 

Los ""box sets"" contienen el disco original y un montón de material extra; 15 maquetas inéditas, un concierto del 2004 grabado en el Irving Plaza de Nueva York (que incluye una versión del ""We are the champions"" de Queen) y 14 canciones disponibles previamente en caras B o en ediciones limitadas. Contiene también dos Blu Rays con el documental ""Heart like a hand grenade"", actuaciones en la BBC (Top of the Pops y Jools Hollland) y una nueva película documental  ""20 years of American Idiot"" (de 110 minutos de duración). Los libretos que acompañan ambas cajas (de 36 páginas en vinilo y 48 en CD) incluyen textos del productor Rob Cavallo y el periodista David Frickle. 

La caja de vinilos contiene ocho LPs de diferentes colores y material de memorabilia (una bandera y la icónica corbata de American Idiot). 

La publicación de ""American Idiot"" supuso una conmoción en la carrera de Green Day y en la música de comienzos del siglo XXI. Impulsado por hit singles como “Boulevard of Broken Dreams”, “Holiday”, “Wake Me Up When September Ends”, “Jesus of Suburbia"" y  “American Idiot”, el álbum alcanzó el número uno en EEUU y vendió 23 millones de copias en todo el mundo. En España fue disco de oro y sus singles alcanzaron la categoría de Disco de Oro o Platino.
