Cuando Fleetwood Mac terminó la gira de Tusk en 1980, el guitarrista Lindsey Buckingham no perdió el tiempo y se metió de nuevo en el estudio, grabando casi todos los instrumentos para su debut en solitario en 1981, Law and Order. Antes del cambio de siglo, Buckingham añadió dos álbumes más a su discografía - Go Insane y Out of the Cradle - junto con una serie de canciones memorables para películas, incluyendo ""Holiday Road"" de National Lampoon's Vacation (1983).
