El álbum "The Trojan Story", una de las colecciones más significativas del inmenso catálogo de Trojan, cambió radicalmente la percepción de la música jamaicana entre el público británico en general, fuera de la población afrocaribeña del país.   Antes de su publicación en 1971, nunca se había intentado presentar una antología completa del desarrollo musical de la isla, ya que el ska, el rock steady y el reggae antiguos se consideraban obsoletos y de escaso valor.  El conjunto de discos triples, que se convirtió en un éxito de ventas instantáneo, fue una idea del director del sello Trojan y fanático de la música negra, Rob Bell, quien, con la ayuda de los incondicionales de Trojan, Dandy Livingstone, Webster Shrowder, Des Bryan y Joe Sinclair, produjo posiblemente la retrospectiva de la música jamaicana más importante de todos los tiempos.  Ahora, 50 años después de su lanzamiento original, este álbum tan influyente ha sido revisado por Bell, junto con el músico de reggae Rusty Zinn, que han conseguido mejorar lo que ya era una colección casi perfecta.  Presentado con el llamativo material gráfico original, el conjunto de 3 CD se ve reforzado por un folleto de 28 páginas muy ilustrado en el que Bell y Zinn revelan las historias que hay detrás del lanzamiento y los 50 temas que aparecen en la compilación.
