Willie Nelson comenzó su popularidad en 1984, después de recopilar 16 éxitos número 1 en la década anterior y entrar en las listas de éxitos pop varias veces, todo mientras protagonizaba una serie de películas exitosas y era una de las figuras más reconocidas de la cultura popular.
